It was founded with the contribution of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1926 as Emlak ve Eytam Bank to help build the young Republic of Turkey after years of national struggle, support construction attempts, protect the rights of orphans, and provide the necessary credits. In the first years of its establishment, the bank undertook projects that were among the most distinguished examples of the First National Architecture Period, such as the New Parliament building, the Turkish Hearths building, and the Central Bank building. Participating in the construction of Bahçelievler Houses, the first housing project of Turkey, the bank also gave us the first example of the housing loan financing model with the system used in this project. It kept on contributing to the building and employment of our country with symbol structures all around the world such as the Saracoğlu Neighbourhood, Levent Houses, and Koşuyolu Neighbourhood.
The bank changed its name throughout the years due to the needs of our country and continued its activities as Türkiye Emlak Kredi Bank, Tek Bank, and finally, Türkiye Emlak Bank. After it obtained its official authorisation from the BRSA as the youngest participation bank of our country, Türkiye Emlak Katılım Bank was reopened to add more strength to our country with its 93 years of knowledge and a team of the most experienced and hardworking bankers.
Türkiye Emlak Participation Bank will develop sustainable financing models that will be accessible for everyone in this economic cycle from producers to consumers, towards strategic sectors that will contribute to economic growth and employment, especially in the construction sector. It will also take part in the growth and share increase of participation banking by offering new products and services.
