Murat Akşam: The Banking Sector Has Passed an Extremely Successful Test

Murat Akşam, CEO of Türkiye Finans, shared his views about the banking sector in the session titled "How the Companies Will Grow in the New Period" at the "Back to Production" meetings organized by Türkiye Finans Participation Bank in cooperation with Fast Company magazine. Stating that the banking sector is a very dynamic sector, Murat Akşam, CEO of Türkiye Finans, indicated that through the investments made in the last 15-20 years, the sector has reached a level that can compete with Europe and even the world.

Murat Akşam said, "As a sector, we both catch up on technology with quick actions and implement customer-oriented works through innovative inventions. Our sector is a little bit different from other sectors in terms of operation. Our branches continue to serve throughout the pandemic, including the full lockdown process. Therefore, as a sector, we have determined our priority as customer and employee health since the beginning of the pandemic. By taking all the precautions in this regard, we have adapted very quickly to the new era and continued to work as if nothing had occurred."

Stating that meeting the financing needs was a very critical requirement during this period, Murat Akşam shared that they have made great efforts as a sector in terms of both financing and evaluating the savings of customers. Drawing attention to the significant growth of the banking sector at a rate of 36% in 2020 and reaching a size of more TRY 6 trillion, Murat Akşam, CEO of Türkiye Finans, said, "As Türkiye Finans, we have closed 2020 with a growth of 55% by taking agile and quick decisions. We have taken very important steps, especially in the first three to four months of the pandemic. We have pioneered through our work by taking very quick actions in order to meet the needs of our customers with innovative products.
