Who is Abdullah Tivnikli?
Who is Abdullah Tivnikli that took part in the legal infrastructure preparation of the participation banking model in Turkey?
Abdullah Tivnikli was born in 1959 in Erzurum. After graduating from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1981, he finished his master’s degree in Management at the same university.
During his stay in England for education, he carried out academic studies on how the participation banking model is implemented in the world.
Since 1983, he has been involved in the legal infrastructure preparation of participation banking in Turkey. At the end of this process, he was actively involved in the establishment of Albaraka Türk, which is the first implementer of this model in Turkey. Being a member of Kuveyt Turk Participation Bank's Board since 1988, Abdullah Tivnikli was appointed as the Vice-Chairman of Kuveyt Turk Participation Bank in 2001.
Known for his philanthropist personality and having 4 kids, Tivnikli holds the title of Honorary Consul General at Istanbul since 2005.
Alongside his duties in the participation banking area, Abdullah Tivnikli also took part in the management of the family company, Eksim Group.
