Mr. Donia is an entrepreneur and financial services executive who Co-Founded IdealRatings in San Francisco in 2006 to become the leading provider serving the Islamic finance industry and Social Responsible and ESG investments industry. Prior to IdealRatings Mr. Donia was Co-Founder of Cogency Inc, a silicon valley start-up, where he helped define Cogency solutions for the hedge funds and fund of funds firms to become a leading solution provider with some of the world’s largest hedge fundsand fund of funds as clients. Before Cogency, Mr. Donia was Vice President of Applications at TenFold corporation, a silicon valley start-up, which IPO’ed on NASDAQ 1999, where he was responsible for leading customer engagements for Fortune 500 customers in the financial services, banking, insurance, and energy verticals.
Maaqil Bhoyroo, Head - MEA Equity Index Product at FTSE Russell an LSEG Business
Maaqil is part of the EMEA Equity Index Product team at FTSE Russell and responsible for leading the MEA regional index product initiatives, supporting relationship management across FTSE Russell’s MEA client base, and a Subject Matter Expert for FTSE Russell’s Shariah/Islamic index product range. Maaqil joined FTSE in 2001, initially managing the FTSE UK Operations Team (responsible for the FTSE 100 Index & FTSE UK Index Series). During his time at FTSE Russell, Maaqil oversaw the global Index Management teams prior to regionalization, the Index Review team, and Index Policy. He was the Head of EMEA Index Partnerships for ten years. Prior to joining FTSE Russell, Maaqil worked at Henderson Global Investors and Financial Times Information (now ICE Data Services).
Adnan Halawi, Senior Proposition Manager, Islamic Finance, Refinitiv an LSEG Business
Adnan is responsible for the product development of solutions that cater to the needs of Islamic finance investors and professionals. He has more than 15 years’ experience in developing customer-centric solutions to better analyse sukuk and other Islamic-finance market data, empowering decision making and tracking market developments. Most recently, he also started identifying ways to serve the growing need for ESG and sustainability data in the Islamic finance sector.
